This is truly amazing how these offshore dayrates have continued to make new highs each time I update my tables from the rates listed at rigzone (www.rigzone.com/data/dayrates/) about every two weeks. The earnings numbers from these stocks will be eye opening in the next 2 quarters, which is why the forward P/E on each is much lower than the trailing P/E:

Another data point to bear in mind, last week the Minerals Management Service conducted the biggest GOM lease sale in more than a decade. The average bid per block hit a new record, and the total number of bids submitted more than doubled last year's total. Who says the GOM offshore drilling is dead?
